Its snowing...somewhere

Its official it has snowed in Afghanistan as you can see by this picture....no wait there is a better one.

okay so its at 14000 feet elevation. Other things that happened today, one of the ANA soldiers tried sneeking away to see his wife who just happened to be in town. He was sneeking away from work walking down a ditch thru the mine field surrounding the camp thinking that the recient rains had washed away the mines in the ditch, when he stepped on a mine that promptly blew up. We were visiting the site and had just left when it happened. They might be able to save a foot the other one is gone. We visited him in the hospital for a second then were told to leave.

what is an ANA soldier? A soldier from Afganistan? Our Mountains look the same as yours and it's cold!
Holy Cow! That is Scary. Be careful!! Hey, It snowed here today! Man at least we get the same weather.Love you Dad.
I think it's the Afghan National Army...ANA. but I could be wrong. Our mountains top out around 9,500 feet (the ones by our house), King's Peak is 13,528 feet. Those mountains are higher.
You have not answered my letter .
did you get it?
Dad
