Jubla Saraj
The district that we went to yesterday was called Ju bla Sara czh. The district was known for holding out on during the Taliban regime. Which makes them hated among all the rest of the country. The Taliban took their retribution on this district and destroyed the women clinic and most of the government infrastructer in the area. With that said it was still a nice place.

We stopped at the District Governors building and office. Here we are waiting to see the Cheif of Police.
This was the river that we crossed over note the soviet armor in the river. there must have been around 20 armor vehicles all destroyed and in the river.
This was the fiew from off the steps of the Chief of Police Headquarters.
We were asked to have lunch with the District Governor and we were taken to a small park by the electrical plant. The plant was build by the Germans almost 90 years ago and it still makes electricity, the quality is somewhat intermitant but it is electrictity. The build is the care takers house.
This was the building that housed all the electrical turbines.
The Distric Governor is the one with the snow white beard and the gray hat on the right. His son is the fifth one from the right and he looks just like his dad only younger. His son is the education officer for the Parwan Providence. The carpets were very nice.
These are Mullberries, they are very sweet and juicy. The darker they are the sweeter (more ripe) they are. The mugs are filled with cold cucumber soup, a mixture of yogert and cucumbers and onions, it was interesting (yum yum just like mom used to make.....not).
Having eaten all the berries and waiting for lunch we relaxed and stared up at the sky and just enjoyed the day.
Lunch was served on the rugs with a Nagahyde strip over them. they put the bread and watermellon down then passed out little tea pots with a soup inside. you tear up the bread and put it in the big bowl then pour out the "soup" a few vegtables and one peice of meat with one large chunck of sheep fat to make it all "yummy" ( the sheep fat was large yellow and very unappatizing, did I say large I ment giagantic); into the bowl of bread and eat it with your fingers.
After lunch we took a quick tour of the electrical facilities, it was quite interesting and hopefully they can get a handle on the operation so that the power is not so intermitentat. After the tour we drove home and relaxed, all in all it was a nice day.

That sounds like a pretty fun day. A little more than my exciting day of helping someone move. Interesting food. I am glad we have "normal" food here. Love ya bunches!

ive tried the cucober soup stuff my seminary teacher brought it to class cause he went somewhere that had it on his mission,it was um well it was interesting!.
